He mentioned that he knew a nice, quiet, and hardworking guy in the St. Mary's Knights of Columbus (Caldwell) and wanted to know if I was interested in meeting him. I told him "yes" and then I waited... PRESTON'S STORY On Sunday, November 13, 2022 Kellie's grandfather (Papa) and I had a conversation while we were cooking BBQ Chickens for a St. Mary's Knights of Columbus fundraiser in Caldwell. He asked me if I was interested in meeting his favorite and only granddaughter, and I told him "yes." One week later on November 22, Kellie's grandfather brought me her phone number while I was working at the Burleson County Co-Op. He asked me to text her, and I did. The rest is history! Two weeks later, we met each other at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell to attend 10 a.m. Mass. After church, we went out to lunch at Four Tines Restaurant, where my sister, Zoe, was our waitress. Our first "official date" was the Deanville Hall Christmas Party in December. After dating Kellie for a year, I decided "she was the one," but I wanted to have a sit-down conversation with our matchmaker. While I was on a coffee break at work, Papa brought me a homemade breakfast taco, and we sat in his Chevy truck and talked about my plans. On February 24, 2024, Kellie and I went to my Uncle Ernie's place on the Brazos River, and I asked her if she would marry me.
