Kellie and Miguel met at a hot yoga studio. Kellie was the instructor, and Miguel was her student. After months of subtle flirting in class and Miguel’s habit of lingering afterward, Kellie finally added him on Facebook… and he messaged her immediately. To this day, they still debate who made the first move. Regardless of who actually did (you be the judge), they both insist it was love at first sight. Their first date was just two days later: a beautiful hike followed by a picnic and a bottle of wine. Romantic in theory. Cue the plot twist: Miguel forgot a bottle opener, and their scenic picnic turned into one in a Safeway parking lot. Somehow, that only made things better. From that day on, they’ve been inseparable. A little over a year later, Miguel proposed during a cozy weekend at a cottage in Charlottesville, Virginia, followed by the most thoughtful and unforgettable engagement party surrounded by their closest friends and family. Since meeting, they’ve packed a whole lot of life into a short amount of time. They’ve hiked mountains, skied and snowboarded together, ran a half marathon, swam with dolphins, and even pet baby tigers. They adopted a dog (their son, Onyx), moved in together, then moved again, but this time into a home they bought together. Along the way, they’ve traveled often, adventuring everywhere from Dubai and Miami to California and Mexico (numerous times), making endless memories and laughing through every chapter. Mexico holds a particularly special place in their hearts, making it the perfect place to gather their favorite people to celebrate their wedding in paradise.
