Kelli I woke up like any other day. It was a rare day off from my new nursing job and I was eager to relax and spend time with Brian once he finished up at work. I knew he was planning a date where the location was supposed to be a secret but his Mom let it slip that he was taking me to happy hour somewhere. So I carried on with my day, ran some errands, and Brian picked me up right after he got done at work. I hopped in the car, not knowing our destination, but certain we were heading to happy hour. We started in the direction of Seattle which was a little less common but I didn’t question it. We pulled into Discovery Park and my heart skipped. This was the same place Brian had first told me loved me. When he opened the trunk he revealed a stuffed backpack and a blanket. We began our trek towards the beach and the surprises continued. We found a nice spot beside the water, laid out the blanket, and Brian began to unpack all of the "Kelli Reid Food Essentials". He had wine, appetizers, Chipotle, and strawberries dipped in Nutella for dessert. He seemed a bit more on edge than usual; glancing at his phone here and there, hurrying along our dinner time but I didn't give it much thought. After our small feast, he asked me to go look for sea glass with him for our collection. We got up from our picnic and walked about 10 feet before he said, “Okay I can’t wait any longer.” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in shock and he blacked out from the nerves. After this temporary moment of shock and excitement, I quickly accepted the proposal to be his wife and spend the rest of our lives together.
