We met through ROTC at Penn State. We both fancied each other but didn't know how the other felt, so we remained acquaintances throughout college. Fast forward 5 years, we reconnected in San Diego (thanks, Navy!) and the rest is history.

Our first date in San Diego was on a coastal hike at Torrey Pines. Two years later, we took a close friend visiting from out of town (Lauren, one of Emily's bridesmaids) on that same hike. While posing for a photo, Stephen got down on one knee and popped the question!
