Setting the scene- Fall 2017, first semester of college at Illinois State University Skyler and Kelley were in the same Communications class. They sat on opposite sides of the room, had different friends, and never spoke to each other. Fast forward to a project near the end of the semester when Kelley and Skyler were in a group together. During a meet up at the library to work on the project, Skyler made a comment about the show Supernatural, and Kelley's brain went "ooh, interesting... very interesting". That night she snapchatted Skyler to ask if he wanted to hang out sometime. They spent almost every night during the weeks leading up to finals together, studying and just talking, and they texted constantly. The night Kelley's parents were picking her up to bring her home for Winter break, she was hanging out with Skyler in his dorm watching TV. She got a text that her mom was almost to her dorm, so she got ready to head back. They gave each other a hug and promised to talk over break, and she walked away towards her dorm across campus. Halfway to her dorm, she got a message from Skyler saying he forgot to give her something and that he was on his way to her. Anyone want to guess what he forgot?? Anyone...? Bueller?? A KISS. If you guessed it, congratulations! They really have been living in their own romcom since 2017. He caught up with her and kissed her. Then he walked her the rest of the way across campus to her dorm, and he met her mom that night. Two weeks later, December 27th to be exact, Kelley went to Peoria with a friend to go shopping. Skyler happened to also be in Peoria that day with his friends. They made a plan to meet up in person before leaving, and in a parking lot behind Olive Garden, Skyler formally asked Kelley if she would be his girlfriend. Spoiler alert- she said yes.
