How we met

It all started with a simple click of a button...want to chat? What else were we going to do when a pandemic started? We then talked/texted/video called for about two months before we decided it was time to meet at The Crossings with Harper (Chris' dog). We walked and talked for over two hours about everything and anything we could think of. After our initial meeting we knew we wanted to meet again. Kelley came over to Chris' house to watch a baseball game featuring our favorite teams...Atlanta Braves at NY Mets. Thankfully for Chris the Braves pulled it out...however the time spent together was perfect. We hit it off and our relationship continues to grow by the day. We may not agree on our sports teams (Braves vs Mets; Bruins vs Rangers; Giants vs Jets) but we do agree that there is no one else we would rather be with.

The Proposal

Most people know that I have a love for sloths! Chris listened and planned a day where we went to a localish zoo. We walked around for a little while looking and feeding all the different animals (over 100). We had a scheduled sloth encounter for 12:30, where I was looking forward to being able to touch and feed these amazing creatures that I had no idea that he other plans. The zookeepers gave us some information about the sloths and we got to pet Ruby. From there they asked if we were ready to feed them! When the one zookeeper turned to get the tray of food, the other started taking pictures on Chris’ phone, When the top of the food tray opened, it read "MARRY ME?" I was a bit shocked, to say the least. I’m pretty sure I had to re-read the tray as Chris was down on his knee. After realizing what was actually happening, I said yes, with some tears in my eyes. After the shock started to wear off, we got to enjoy the rest of the encounter as a newly engaged couple!
