The Roots

Why persistence is key..

I remember getting a message on Snapchat from Caleb with some flattering comment. I wasn't in a place to date and wasn't even sure who this person was other than what I seen as his tag: Lightskinboy96. I thanked him for the compliment and kept it pushing. This went on for about a year on and off with him sliding into my messages and me avoiding it. I was 19 in the chaos of finding myself and scrolling social media like my life depended on it when he messaged again, yet, this time I felt different. I responded and entertained it out of pure boredom if I'm being 100% honest, and that's when he asked me on a date. Being young and at a point where I had nothing to lose with my non existent love life, I said yes. The next week I found myself in a car with him singing Tadow by Masego and feeling as though this is how love is supposed to be. Effortless. Our one date led into weekend after weekend together and quite frankly we have been inseparable ever since. Though not to say there hasn't been bumps or hurdles over these last 6 years as all good relationships have them but our lives naturally intertwined ever since that day. A soul connection, a return to home, which is exactly what Caleb is to me. My home. We cannot wait to celebrate and share some of our love with all of you, and we hope you will join us to witness and celebrate what god has blessed us with, each other.
