We strongly recommend booking your room early. The following hotels are spread throughout the surrounding area and listed, to the best of our ability, from least to most expensive. We did not get a hotel block because the rates did not offer any savings. Vero Beach and Sebastian are both short drives to Orchid Island. Vero Beach is about 20 minutes south and extends across the Indian River creating a mainland side and an island side; the island side is beachfront, and a bit cuter, but the price of lodging there is reflected. Sebastian is about 10 minutes north of Orchid Island. It doesn't have the same beach town vibe with lots of shops and restaurants but, for that reason, the prices tend to be lower. Melbourne is a forty five minute drive from Vero Beach. It requires a connecting flight but gets you a bit closer.
