Matron of Honor
Ali and Caitlin met their freshman year of college. They lived in Kappa Kappa Gamma together for three years and got even closer after college when they became roommates living in downtown Indianapolis. They both met their fiancés while living together so it was a special (and occasionally emotional) time in their lives.
Best Man
Eric and Kyle were born 2 years apart and spent much of their childhood going to Purdue games, playing backyard sports, and indulging in the latest video games. They played on the same high school football team with Kyle eventually taking over the kicking duties once Eric graduated. Though their teachers were surprised with their differing personalities (Kyle being more social), it's not hard to see the similarities when you get them together.
Bridesmaid
Ashley and Ali met sophomore year when Ali made the transition from gymnastics to cheerleading. Ashley and Ali became quickly became friends, especially through Ashley's chauffeur service. Ashley and Ali have stayed close through their time at Purdue and post-grad, despite Ashley moving from Chicago to Indianapolis just as Ali was doing the opposite.
Groomsman
Eric and Alex met on the football team at DePauw University and then became fraternity brothers and roommates in Delta Tau Delta. Eric was awestruck to meet someone from the small town of Milan, IN, the setting of the movie Hoosiers, and the two bonded over their knowledge of Indiana high school mascots. Alex and Eric's friendship has extended to Alex's wife and Ali becoming close. The four of them live 10 minutes away from each other and alternate hosting wine and game nights.
Bridesmaid
Ali and Ashley have known each other since elementary school production of Seusical the Musical and DeVeau's competitive gymnastics team at the same age. Their paths diverged a bit, but they reconnected in junior high and have remained friends ever since.
Groomsman
Corey and Eric met when they were 6 years old and Corey brought over Jell-o to his new next door neighbors and then proceeded to play the inaugural Malm/Lucia backyard football game. Over 12 years, the games evolved to include more of the neighborhood kids, ridiculous plays drawn on hands, missed field goals over the Lucia swing set, and the infamous "Arena" game. There are countless other memories, but through different high schools, colleges, jobs and cities, the Malm-Lucia friendship has proven everlasting.
Bridesmaid
Danielle and Ali met when their dads coached their kindergarten soccer team, so the two have quite a history. Given that they looked happiest in the picture following their victory from a forfeit, it is no surprise that they pursued other athletic endeavors. Thankfully their friendship has long outlasted their soccer careers and the two continue to support each other through all events in life.
Groomsman
Kyle and Eric met during fraternity rush at DePauw University. Kyle played on the golf team and the two bonded over their delusional aspirations that they were better athletes than the D3 Dream. These hopes of playing big time college sports gave way to enjoying beers at the Delt house, constructing the perfect party room, and trips to the Edinburgh outlet mall. After graduating, Eric and Kyle were roommates in Broad Ripple for 3 years and still see each other on trips to Chicago, Indy, and golf destinations.
Bridesmaid
Ellen and Ali could have crossed paths at track meets throughout high school, but the two actually met their freshman year of college. They spent most of college together as bunkmates in Kappa Kappa Gamma. Ellen and Ali share many of the same interests, so even though they no longer share a bunkbed, they are still just as close.
Groomsman
Matt and Eric met through Ali and the two became close as they reminisced over Purdue games of old and discussed macroeconomic policy, rest assured that these conversations are as uninteresting as they sound to those who surround them. Eric can always count on Matt for the latest business book recommendation and in return, he has taken it upon himself to assist in Matt's desire to acquire a taste for whiskey. Though Matt is attending law school, Eric still believes that the two of them will be country music producers in Nashville one day.
Bridesmaid
Jill’s and Ali’s parents were in the same fraternities and sororities at Purdue, so you could say that Jill and Ali have been friends since before birth. Officially, Jill and Ali met their freshman year of college and spent many semesters living together in Kappa Kappa Gamma. Jill brings a lot to the table when it comes to being a good friend, but she’s an especially good shoulder to cry on about Purdue sports.
Groomsman
Despite the 12 year age gap, Mitchell and Eric bonded by hanging out at the Hawthorn's gym and discussing high school football. As most know, Eric loves to relive his Friday Night Lights "glory days" by watching and analyzing Mitchell's games. While Eric unconvincingly tried to get Mitchell to go the special teams route as the long snapper, he still enjoys following HSE football and Mitchell's journey to become the next great offensive lineman.
Bridesmaid
Ali and Katie "met" during sorority recruitment, when Katie overheard Ali telling her mom that Kappa Kappa Gamma was where she wanted to spend the next four years. Knowing she was doing the same, Katie probably followed Ali on every form of social media (because they are one in the same), and they have been inseparable ever since. It turns out, Katie and Ali grew up less than 10 minutes from each other, and they took great advantage of that while home away from school!
Groomsman
Nick and Eric met at DePauw University where Eric recruited him to join the Delt house and later they became roommates. Eric and Nick became close through their rec basketball games and similar career aspirations. Nick helped Eric prepare for interviews and has always served as a sounding board throughout their careers. Nick and Eric work 3 blocks from each other, allowing them to pick up where they left off from college.
Bridesmaid
Ali loves Eric’s friends, especially for their taste in women. Kristy and Ali met at the 2017 Monon Bell football game. Since neither of them were as passionate about the DePauw Wabash rivalry as the boys, they spent the day together and connected instantly. Since then, they’ve both moved to Chicago and their bond has only gotten stronger. And Kristy deserves an award for helping Ali navigate wedding planning during a pandemic (Eric is very, very grateful).
Groomsman
Eric and Tim met at DePauw University, where they were freshman year roommates, members of the football team, and brothers in Delta Tau Delta. Though brief, Tim was even the holder for Eric's field goals before Coach had other plans. Despite Tim and Eric criss-crossing the country with personal and career moves, they have remained close and are thankful to both be back in the Midwest.
Bridesmaid
Taylor and Ali met sometime in 6th grade, which means Taylor saw (and was part of the same project as) Ali dressed up as an Oompa Loompa and stayed friends with her. If you've seen the picture, you understand why she might have been scared off. But through all of the years, Taylor and Ali have kept each other balanced, grounded, and confident--which is something special in a friendship.
Groomsman
Travis and Eric met during J.P. Morgan's analyst training program in New York after college. Travis, Eric and 4 others quickly became friends and would explore the city outside of the office. After training, Travis went back to Austin and Eric to Indianapolis, but they stayed in touch and reunited when they both moved to New York. Eric now lives in Chicago, but he and Travis remain close and meet up when Eric has work in New York and on their annual guys trip.
