We met in 2017 at the Mizzou vs. KU “Border War” basketball game at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Keeley had driven her Chi Omega friends from Mizzou, and Charlie was there with his dad and brothers. While our friends were busy flirting, we shared a laugh about it—and even though KU won (93–87… painful), something much better came out of that day. A few days later, we ran into each other at a tailgate in Columbia. Keeley snapped a photo of Charlie and sent it via Snapchat the next day—October 25, 2017. We started talking, exchanged numbers, and soon after, became inseparable. Before Keeley left for London three weeks later, we spent Thanksgiving together and met each other’s families. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we went to the Plaza Lighting and realized how connected our worlds already were—Keeley’s cousin Laura had once lived with Charlie’s cousin, Linda. It felt meant to be. Six months apart while Keeley studied abroad only brought us closer. We FaceTimed daily, and when she returned, Charlie picked her up from the airport—on our six-month anniversary—and took her straight to his Beta formal at Lake of the Ozarks. (He later admitted he knew on that drive he’d marry her someday.) A few years later, we made a “six-month move” to California—Keeley to teach, Charlie to intern in music—right before COVID changed everything. When a chance visit to a vineyard on Howell Mountain turned into a new life, we stayed. Four years later, here we are: happy, healthy, and growing roots in wine country. On October 25, 2025, we’ll celebrate eight years together—and can’t wait to share this place and this moment with all of you. You’re here because you’ve made an impact on our lives. This celebration is as much about love as it is about the community that shaped us. (Photo below: the picture that started it all.)
