Where is the venue located?

Answer

The Barns of Kanak is located at 5503 Ruffin Road Prince George, VA 23875.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The Ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30pm, please allow enough time for parking and locating a seat. We want to make sure everyone is settled in before we say "I do!"

Am I allowed to take pictures during the Ceremony?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. We ask that all guests have their phones silenced or turned off during the ceremony. Feel free to take as many pictures as you wish once the ceremony has completed and the reception begins!

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate those formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you have received a plus one, it will be listed on your invitation.

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be mostly an adults-only event. Invited children of our family will be noted on the invitation— please check your invitation for more details.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 20th. If you have not RSVP'd by that date, we will assume you are unable to attend and will not have a place reserved for you.

Will the ceremony/reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Depending on the weather, the ceremony will take place outdoors and our reception will take place indoors, with the option to open the barn doors if the weather is nice.

Are there hotel room blocks reserved?

Answer

Yes, there are 30 rooms blocked off at the Comfort Inn Suites (5380 Oaklawn Blvd. Prince George, VA 23875). We have also listed alternate nearby hotels on the travel page.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

At this time, guests will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the venue. Uber is always an excellent option. We'll have plenty of parking available! Please follow the directions of the parking attendants.

Can I leave my car parked overnight?

Answer

No, our venue does not allow guest to leave their vehicles overnight.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is semi-formal attire. Think polished but comfortable. We ask that the women stay away from White, Ivory, and cream colors.

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

BBQ! Our event will be catered by Deep Run Roadhouse. We will have a delicious buffet station with plenty of options for everyone! FYI: - There are no peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, or shellfish in any menu items - Only the Pulled Pork contains pork - Only the Portabella Mushrooms contain mushrooms - All sides are vegetarian - The Portabella Mushrooms are vegan, and the Texas Caviar contains honey, but is otherwise vegan.

Can I smoke/vape?

Our Venue is a smoke and vape-free facility; however, there is a designated smoking area that can be used in the back of the property.

What if I am no longer able to attend?

Answer

We understand that life happens. Please let us know as soon as your plans change so we can make the necessary updates with our catering team.
