wedding party

Since we’re lucky enough to share the majority of our friends, rather than having "bridesmaids" and "groomsmen" in the traditional way, we elected to have all of our closest friends (there's a lot of them!) be a part of one big wedding party. No sides. Get to know them all below!

Ross Walters

Officiant

Ross and Donnie met at Apple. Ross actually trained him for the job! Over the next 7 years the two of them would build one of the strongest relationships ever. Countless nights of Halo, going to the movies, and hanging out in the bunker. A few years later, Kristen started at Apple, and the 3 of them would go on to spend every lunch and break together. Ross is officiating the wedding not only because he’s a great public speaker (which he is) but because he was the first person to really witness Kristen and Donnie together and helped nudge their relationship along. Ross is an amazing father, husband, and friend, and Kristen and Donnie are so incredibly honored that he will be the one to make their commitment official.

Victoria Pennacchio

Friend of Honor

Kristen and Victoria have been friends for over 20 years. They met in Kindergarten, and despite going to different schools for grades 1st though college, they've remained as close as ever. The two of them have shared some of life’s highs and lows, and they’ve supported and lifted each other up through all of it. Being able to spend time apart and come together like no time has passed is a true gift, and they are incredibly lucky to share that.

Lydia Margitich

Friend of Honor

Kristen and Lydia met in their high school choir. After both deciding to attend SF State, they ended up sharing the cutest apartment in the Inner Richmond. During those 2 years, their typical grocery list included Chocolate Pop Tarts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Eggos — and it's truly a wonder they made it through that time. They've remained best friends throughout crazy life changes, being roommates a second time, and living in different states. Their friendship is rare and invaluable and Kristen and Donnie are so honored for her be a part of the wedding.

Jordan Morgan

Friend of Honor

Donnie met Jordan through Kristen and Lydia as he is Lydia’s husband. Kristen was living with Lydia in San Francisco when Jordan and Donnie really started to connect. Their love of music, basketball, nba2k, and just straight chilling has made them incredible life-long friends. Not to mention — Donnie and Kristen are obsessed with his son Moses. To have him in the wedding and in Donnie and Kristen's lives is a true honor.

Sophia Flores-Istin

Friend of Honor

Sophia and Kristen met in high school. They sang together in a 1940s trio called The Fondettes for over 8 years and made some of their most treasured memories during that time. They have traveled together, lived together, and grown up together in their most vulnerable of years. Sophia will always be the person Kristen goes to when she needs someone to harmonize with. Their friendship has withstood living in different countries, different states, and different life stages and has remained as true and honest as always.

Erik Giusti

Friend of Honor

Erik and Kristen met in their freshman year of high school in Mrs. Ennis' math class. Together they've made the best music videos, ate their weight in McDonald's fries, and watched the Cheetah Girls on repeat. They're both Slytherins and for some reason, their best selfies are always taken together. Through the years, what was once silly and juvenile has evolved into a reliable, honest and longstanding friendship that has stood the test of time. Kristen and Donnie are so happy Erik will be a part of the day and their future.

Shannon Peterson

Kristen's Sister

Despite their 9-year age difference, Shannon and Kristen have stayed close their whole lives. Shannon made Kristen an Aunty for the first time and it's her favorite role! You won't be hearing a speech from Shannon at the wedding, though — they made a pact that they didn't have to speak at each other's weddings (who likes public speaking?). Still trying to get her to sing a song, though.

Chad Peterson

Kristen's Brother-In-Law

When Chad first became a part of the family, Kristen was 11. Chad's memory of Kristen of that age is her seemingly-permanent milk mustache. Over the years, Chad has always been so supportive of whatever Kristen was doing at that time in her life. When Donnie came into the picture, they quickly became friends as well. Chad is like a brother to both Kristen and Donnie and they're both so grateful that he will be a part of their day!

Melissa Nelson

Donnie's Sister

You don't get to choose your siblings — but Melissa and Donnie still would have chosen each other, and they've been best friends their entire lives. When Kristen and Melissa met, they too became fast and close friends. The 3 of them, along with Chris, have traveled together, lived together, owned businesses together, and been there for each other through all of life's trials and joys.

Chris Nelson

Donnie's Brother-In-Law

Chris is literally and figuratively Donnie’s older brother. Chris is a huge part of Donnie’s life as a friend, role model, business partner, and teammate in FIFA. When Kristen and Donnie first started dating, Melissa and Chris got married and they had the opportunity to see what a great husband and father he would become. To this day, Chris is a perfect example of what any person should strive to be — kind, loving, comedic, and just plain fun. It’s always a great day when Chris is around!

Rick Vargas

Friend of Honor

Rick is Donnie’s old neighbor from around the block! Donnie had always looked up to Rick for his musical expertise and overall chillness. It wasn’t until years later, after Donnie grew up, that Rick would go on to record his first album and become a huge part of his life. But it didn’t stop there. Rick was an integral piece of Donnie getting his first film job working for The Grateful Dead and has been his #1 role model through the years. During the fires, Rick and Vanessa offered their home for D & K to stay with them and their puppy Archie. Rick is getting married in September to beautiful Vanessa, and Donnie and Kristen couldn’t be more stoked for them!

Matt Bair

Friend of Honor

Matt was Donnie’s neighbor growing up for over 10 years. Their first encounter was the day when he moved into the court, and Donnie came over to ask “Hey, I’m your new neighbor, do you want to play?” Ever since then these two have learned guitar together, dirt biked, traveled all over, been roommates in Long Beach, and gotten so close over the years that they consider each other family. Matt is a BBQ master, a loyal friend, and an amazing husband to his wife Natalie.

Nick Bair

Friend of Honor

Nick is the younger-but-taller brother of Matt. Nick was very prone to injury when growing up, so him and Donnie have been through a lot of physical pain together from skateboarding, tag, biking, snowboarding and just being plain dumb. Nick also plays a mean bass guitar! Kristen instantly fit right into our friendship. Krispy and Donie could not be more happy to have the Bair Boys as a part of their wedding!

Danyel Harrington

Friend of Honor

Danyel and Donnie have been close friends ever since third grade at Piner Elementary. They were locker buddies in high school, neighbors all of their childhood, and he is an insanely good spoons player. They rode bikes to school, played guitar, and had a ton of sleep overs. Danyel was also Donnie’s first drinking buddy - tequila and Odwalla. Yuck!

Gerardo Amador

Friend of Honor

Gerry and Donnie also met in third grade but shared the same teacher...Mr. Bickel! Gerry and Donnie would talk on the phone for hours after school talking about girls and sports, and spent a ton of time playing suicide on the playground. The two of them went to different middle and high schools but stayed connected over the years. Gerry (or Guillermo as Kristen knows him) is an incredible friend to both Donnie and Kristen as they’ve shared a ton of parties, events, and life together.

Cody Scott

Friend of Honor

Cody was the rhythm guitarist, comedic relief, and lyric specialist in their old band Redundant Youth. Cody is a relentless friend, killer snowboarder, and one of the funniest people they know. Countless hours of PlayStation has been played between them, and it’s amazing they got anything of value done. Cody holds a special place in both Donnie and Kristen’s heart and they are honored to have him be a part of their day.

Travis Scott

Friend of Honor

Also known as The Bundle of Love, Travis — a centerpiece to “The Hood” — is a true friend, adventurer, and a serious joy to be around with. There’s never a bad time when Travis is around, as his energy is 100% positive. Donnie’s favorite memory of Travis is those countless nights playing night tag, and gaming on Medal of Honor until 3am. Donnie and Kristen are juiced to be spending the night dancing and drinking with Travis!

Gavin Peterson

Ring Bearer

Gavin is Kristen's nephew. He is the one that made her an Aunt! Gavin is such a smart kid. He loves video games and soccer but he *really* loves his Uncle Donnie — arguably more than he loves his Aunty. He has one of the biggest hearts a kid could have and always looks out for his little brother. Gavin has a very important job at the ceremony — he will be responsible for the rings. He's going to do a great job!

Mason Peterson

Pinecone Posse

Mason is Kristen's nephew. When Mason was little, they used to play Minnie Mouse Boutique together. He was born right after Kristen got back from Spain in 2012 — and she's so glad she didn't miss it. Mason loves video games and he loves to color. He's as cute as a bug's ear and Kristen is proud that he inherited her *slightly* feisty attitude. Mason will be tossing pinecones with Oliver at the ceremony.

Oliver Nelson

Pinecone Posse

Oliver is Donnie's nephew. To him, the two people getting married are "Do-do and Tee-tee". Oliver is the cutest little redhead this side of the Mississippi and is such a unique soul. You will see Oliver tossing pinecones down the aisle on the wedding day — give him some encouragement!

Moses Morgan

Ring Security

Moses is Lydia and Jordan's son. He holds a very special place in both Donnie and Kristen's hearts as they've both been around to witness the true love that Lyd and Jordan have. When the two of them found out he would be entering the world, Kristen, Donnie, Lyd and Jordan were roommates at the Chanate House. Not only is Moses ridiculously handsome, he is the product of raw, genuine love — and we are so excited to have him in the wedding by protecting the rings!
