Yes, at higher altitudes, your body takes in less oxygen due to the decrease in air pressure. Lower oxygen levels mean your breathing and heart rate increase as your body works harder to take in oxygen. You may experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, etc. To prevent Altitude Sickness drink lots of water and ascend to higher elevations slowly. If you are prone to altitude sickness, consider spending a day or two in Denver (5280 ft) before coming to Estes Park (7522 ft). Stay a night in Estes Park before ascending peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park. The treatment for Altitude Sickness is to descend to lower elevation, drink lots of water, and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Altitude sickness will usually subside within a few hours and mostly disappear within a day or so. Yes! Estes Park Shuttles will be able to take you to and from the wedding venue! Estes Park Shuttles will provide transportation for guests to the wedding venue starting at 3pm. Pick up location is TBD, but will be finalized once we know the most convenient pick up location. Shuttles will begin end of evening transportation at 9:30pm looping every 30 minutes back to the hotels until 11:30pm
The dress code for the wedding is black tie optional. For men, they should wear a dark suit with a shirt and tie. Women should wear a floor-length gown, knee-length cocktail dress, a pantsuit, or dressy separates. Dress code is Black Tie Optional or Cocktail attire. Please wear sensible shoes as the ceremony will be outdoors. A light jacket or sweater is recommended as it can get chilly at night in the mountains.
Please note there is no Uber or Lift in Estes Park, so please plan to drive yourself to/from the wedding venue, stay at on-site at Della Terra Mountain Chateau, or utilize our complimentary shuttles!
