Our first date

Love Strike Out or Home Run?

The first date, told by Allie: It was late June and I desperately wanted to go see the Astros play the Rockies on July 4th. Being new to Colorado, I didn’t have any friends to go with me so I was determined to find someone from work to accompany me. One day I announced to the room that I needed someone to go with me to the game and Dylan walked up to me and said, “I’ll go.” So the date was set but I wasn’t sure if it was a date. The plan was for me to go over to Dylan’s house and then he was going to drive us to Denver. On the way over, I had a vague memory of Dylan mentioning that he had a million siblings and that he was living with his parents at the time. In that moment, a wave of panic set over me as I tried to mentally prepare for meeting his whole family while still trying to figure out if this was a date. My panic subsided when Dylan informed me that his family was on vacation. On the way to the game I noted that Dylan liked country music based on his radio choice (though I later found out that he doesn’t really like country. I think that he was subconsciously playing it because he knew I was from Texas… he also lied about knowing how to two-step. Ha!) Though spending six hours at a baseball game is a risky move with a stranger, we never had a dull moment. At the end of the game, we went onto the field and watched the firework show for 4th of July. It was the most romantic date/not date ever. <3
