We originally met at a mutual friend's party before Kaytee moved to Denver, thinking we would never see each other again. Six months went by while Kaytee was "living rent free" in Nik's head. Nik unknowingly became friends with Kaytee's sister Amy, and when Kaytee moved to Denver Amy invited her to after mass brunch where Nik and his friends happened to be there. Nik and his roommates hosted an "ugly sweater/waffles party" where Kaytee volunteered to bring her mini waffle maker and 'accidentally' left her waffle maker at Nik's house, hoping for that he would get take hint. The two were friendly, until Nik had a sudden revelation while on the way back home from his cousin's wedding in Florida while reading The Hobbit and he said to himself "If I see Kaytee today, I am going to ask her out." Little did he know that his roommates were playing pick-up frisbee with her and a few other friends. Shoutout to the best wingman/groomsman, Daniel, for tipping Nik off to this. Nik showed up without Kaytee thinking twice and later invited Kaytee and her roommates to the guys' house for a movie night. Nik started to ask Kaytee, then when she realized what was happening said "oh my waffle maker" that she left at his house last month. After retrieving the waffle maker, Nik asked Kaytee out right before flying out on yet another trip. The two enjoyed their first date eating Ramen laughing and instantly hit it off. Kaytee was drawn to Nik's sense of humor, friendliness, and love of the Lord. Over the last year we have been through life events such as buying a house, traveling, and enjoying small moments with friends in the great city of Denver. We love going to mass together, going on new adventures, cooking, hiking, and figuring out how we can be the best versions of ourselves for God and each other.
