Maid of Honor
Being sisters,we’ve been through a lot together. There’s good times, bad times,& all those in between. From her making me go around our neighborhood at the ripe age of 4 to sell our neighbors leaves we had thrown glitter glue all over, to jumping off the top of the bookcase in the library onto all the pillows we could find in the house on the floor, to her 21st bday where she projectile—I’m talking falls, baby—vomited into the toilet for 20 minutes,to a more recent time of me getting my taser taken away at the Statue of Liberty but she made it through with her mace(we’re not a pair to be f*cked w/). At the end of the day,my favorite of all our memories will probably have to be the day we decided that even more than sisters,we could & wanted to be friends. The best ever.Love you, Kays.

Although I met Kaysi later in life, our relationship quickly blossomed into my most cherished friendship. We have countless great memories, but my favorite is when I went to SF to pick her up from the airport. She was having a horrible day & chose me to be her shoulder to cry on, which was an honor because it is usually her shoulder that I am crying on. I decided that to cheer her up, we were going to go on an adventure. I told her that we were going to drive until we found water without using GPS. We drove for hours making wrong turns, laughing hysterically and singing at the top of our lungs without a worry in the world. It is a night that I will never forget. I love you Kays and am so honored to be able to call you my best friend!

Kaysi is one of the first friends I met in college. From meeting as seniors in high school on A Step Forward to being leaders our senior year for our college’s Filipino Student Association. As being extra housemates in our boyfriends’ apartment, our relationship bloomed into wine flights and random doorway convos. I’ll always remember that one night Kaysi and I decided to catch up on Grey’s Anatomy together. We were bawling on the couch as the instrumental of “How to Save a Life” played in the background. The boys came home and laughed at how crazy we were for crying so much over a TV show. Kaysi, I can’t wait to shed happy tears with on you on your big day!

With nothing but our beds and the necessary equipment to set up our internet, Nick and I were determined to spend our very first night living together in our apartment. So, all while standing up, we ate our mayonnaise drenched burgers and played video games on our kitchen counter. This was far from the picture we both envisioned, and I was beginning to question our decision to live there as trains passed by, honking 10 feet away and rattling our windows. Yet it was Nick's unwavering optimism that kept the smiles from fading and encouraged us to enjoy the moment. Flash forward three years later, and the first day Kaysi moved into our apartment she put a cover over the couch, added some flowers, and asked me what color the couch pillows should be. Congratulations, you two!

One of my favorite memories with Kaysi include swim parties at her house growing up, working on group projects together, and as we got older just driving up to Kaysi's house when we were both home from college to talk and catch up with each other (while we played with all of her dogs)!

Whenever we get the chance, Nick and I spend our “work from home” days and weekends at the golf course. Looking back, I’ll never forget the time that Nick introduced me to playing golf. Being somewhat of a beginner himself, he invited me to join him at the driving range. Though working on his own game, he took the time to teach me the basics and made sure I understood the nuances of the game. Soon after, we played our first round of golf together. In retrospect, it’s amazing to see how much we’ve improved our golf game, grown as individuals, and evolved our friendship since then. That’s why I always cherish these moments playing golf together where we reminisce on the past, catch up on the present, and most of all, celebrate the future marriage of Nick and Kaysi. Congratulations you two!

My favorite memory with Kaysi: when we were doing second round elections for FSA Co-Chair with the E-Board — we interviewed a candidate (who shouldn’t be named) and we had to be professional but we were laughing so hard and quietly about a candidate that I ended up crying and letting out weird sounds while the candidate was answering a question. My favorite memory with Nick: all those times we called each other Papatio and Mamatita/Mamatia. Always good vibes and a good time! Favorite part about both of you: you both don’t stop each other from accomplishing your goals. From college until now, you raise each other up and let each other shine.

Kaysi and I have grown alongside each other–from high school classmates to college roommates. There are too many memories together to pick a favorite. But all my favorite memories include late-night laughs when we lived together and being there for each other through the thick and thin–no matter what. We never knew what we were doing in college but together, we figured it all out. I'm so proud to see the amazing, accomplished person she has become.

Growing up I was always ‘too young’ to play with my sister and Britney. But Kaysi would always play with me no matter how much I cried and whined! Another great memory was the time Kaysi just got her license and drove us all to Raley’s and left me and Lola in the van with the windows closed. After five minutes, we got so hot we had to open the sliding door of the car and the car alarm blasted. We freaked out and left the car as is and looked through the whole store for Kaysi as the car continued to beep outside. We finally found Kaysi and the first thing she said to us was “how did you two get out?” And ever since then I’ve been scared of triggering car alarms!

My most memorable moments of Kaysi would have to be when she and I were kids. She would blow out my birthday candles yearly. But I would have to say my favorite memory of Kaysi would probably be making up little dances and singing. Then performing little concerts for our parents together with Britney.

I feel incredibly grateful to have met Nick while working at Dynamic Signal. I have numerous great memories with Nick, but if I had to choose one favorite, it'd be our Spikeball games. Nick and I were a power couple...in spikeball. We loved Spikeball so much that we even played in the Mud once after work when the weather wasn't great - nothing was stopping us from our daily Spikeball game. Nick was the primary hitter who brought the HEAT with his spikes and I was our primary passer and together, we were the undefeated team in the office. I look back on such fun memories like these with Nick at Dynamic Signal and feel so grateful. And I'm excited to forge more memories like these to come!

W have grown up through so many years together. From when you were a new kid at school in the 4th grade to now. I always knew you were an amazing person. We have the busiest schedules and don’t see each other that much but I know you are always there for me. You were the first person I came out to with your mom and Jennifer at your house. You were there for me to listen to me cry through heart breaks. You were there for me during my darkest days and never judged me once. And you were there for me to teach me how to spell orange in the 8th grade. I will love you forever and I’m so happy for you.
