We love this story. It’s filled with lies, espionage, travel, and an ancient castle. It’s almost a spy rom-com. In 2014, Nick knew that if he and Kaysi ever got married, he would propose in Ireland at the Blarney Castle, because Kaysi had never been and remembered a story she was told about when her Grandma Kathryn saw the castle for the first time. What better way to start their lives than at the place where her family spent some of theirs? On October 3rd, 2018 Nick and Kaysi pulled into their airbnb in Cork, Ireland, preparing to go to the Blarney Castle the following morning. Little did Kaysi know she was carrying the ring up the stairs to their room. Nick kept the ring in the Nintendo Switch case knowing she would have no reason to open it. The following morning, Nick woke up early and faked a phone call that they had been kicked out of the airbnb and needed to book a hostel. The reality was that he had booked a Manor in the hills for them to spend the rest of that leg of the trip (but Kaysi didn’t know that!). Nick asked Kaysi to dress up so they could go to dinner afterwards and try and make up for the hostel they’d have to stay at. When they finally arrived at the Blarney Estate, the photographer was waiting for them to enter so he could begin his shooting. Nick was eager to get down on one knee, but really nervous and trying to find the perfect spot to do it at. Meanwhile, Kaysi, oblivious to all this, was on a hunt for tea. After finally finding her tea, she was making Nick take selfies and just soaking in the fact that they finally made it to the Blarney Estates where her grandma once visited. They approached a grassy knoll right in front of the castle and Nick decided that was the perfect time to get down on one knee… and the rest is history.
