Some members of Kaylyn's immediate family were looking for a home in Colin's neighborhood. With an inbox of messages and accepting new friend requests, a shining face stood out to him on the "people you may know" page. Colin decided to send Kay a friend request and much to her dismay, avoid her inbox for 4 weeks. Colin's last wish was to be the creepy guy on Facebook sending random girls' messages. Fast forward those 4 weeks, and Colin was scrolling on one of his dating apps, and a familiar face popped up. Kay was there, on his phone, only 1 swipe away. Colin swiped right and 2 days later, it was a match. Seeing Kay on a dating app had given Colin the courage to initiate a conversation. "Hey!" is what he came up with. Kay's reply, " Who are you and why do I keep seeing you on all my social media?" It truly was love at first interaction.
Colin and Kay had been seeing one another for 4 weeks before going on a formal "date". Colin decided that their 1 month-iversary would be the perfect time to take Kay out. A nice dinner somewhere casual was decided. Duke's on the Carlisle Pike was the spot, December 13th, 2022, was the day, and Kay and Colin studied the menu for about 3 days talking about what they wanted to get. Kay ordered a Meat Lovers Pizza; Colin ordered a loaded gourmet potato and a Buffalo Chicken Stax meal. Both of them wish that they had gotten something different.
