Washington Park Arboretum UW Botanic Gardens
The Arboretum is a welcome oasis on the shores of Lake Washington. Jointly managed by the University of Washington Botanic Gardens and the City of Seattle, its 230 acres contain a dynamic assortment of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest.
Discovery Park
If you're down for a small hike without leaving the city this is the place for you. Multiple trails to make it as long or short as you want. Or if that's not you're thing, there's a parking lot down by the beach and the lighthouse offering a great view. Sometimes you can even catch Mt. Rainier!
Gas Works Park
This is one of my favorite parks in the city. It offers history and a stunning view of the city along Lake Union. Gas Works Park is contains remnants of the sole remaining Coal Gasification Plans in the US.
Deception Pass State Park
Hiking, views, water, and mountains! Deception Pass is on Whidbey Island. You can access the island by driving or by the Mulkiteo ferry.

Fremont Troll

There are many breweries throughout the city. This was the first brewery we went to when visiting Seattle last year. It is an indoor/outdoor brewery complete with lots of doggies. And near the Fremont Troll!

We have not personally done this yet, however, I have heard nothing but great things and hear it's a must do when visiting.
Alki Beach
Want to go to the beach? Alki beach is a unique PNW beach experience, just a little different from the Gulf Coast. There is frequently live music, various festivals and vendors, lots of food options, and stunning views. We have seen Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, and the Olympic Mountains all in the same visit. You can also get here by taking the King County Water Taxi for an even more fun experience!
