We recommend flying into José María Córdova International Airport (MDE). Many major airlines, including American Airlines, Copa, Delta, Avianca, JetBlue, and more offer direct or connecting flights to MDE. When booking, be sure to check flight comparison websites like Google Flights, Kayak, Skyscanner, to find the best deals.
Getting around Medellín is relatively easy and affordable, but we strongly advise against renting a car. The traffic can be chaotic, and driving defensively is a constant necessity. Our top recommendation for navigating Medellín is using Uber. They're readily available, convenient, and inexpensive. A ride from the airport to the city center typically costs around $30-$40 USD, while trips within the city itself are usually under $10 USD. However, please note that Ubers are technically "illegal." While widely used and generally safe, Uber operates in a bit of a gray area. Drivers can occasionally receive tickets if police perceive them to be operating as Ubers. To minimize any potential issues, we recommend ordering Uber Comfort or Uber Black. These services often use vehicles with tinted windows, which can offer a bit more discretion. Occasionally, a driver might ask you to sit in the front seat – this is a common practice and nothing to be concerned about. As always, please make sure you confirm license plates before getting in any ride-sharing vehicle.
We're so glad you're thinking about accommodations! We've secured a group code at The Binn Hotel to help keep everyone together. Please note that this isn't a traditional hotel block with a discount, but rather a way for us to coordinate our stays. Rooms at The Binn Hotel typically range from $150-$200 per night, depending on when you book. While we'd love for everyone to stay at The Binn, we understand that budgets vary. Medellín offers a wide range of accommodation options, so feel free to explore! We simply encourage you to do your due diligence and read in-depth reviews before booking any hotel or Airbnb. To give you a head start, here are a few other hotels we particularly like: Novotel Medellin El Tesoro: This hotel is conveniently located inside a mall, making it perfect for shopping and dining. 23 Hotel: If you're looking for something chic and boutique, 23 Hotel is a great option. It also boasts an amazing restaurant. Click Clack Hotel Medellín: For a luxurious experience, consider the 5-star Click Clack Hotel Medellín. Hotel Dann Carlton: This large hotel offers lovely views and a more traditional hotel experience. If you're leaning towards an Airbnb, we highly recommend checking out Urban Studios. They offer stylish 1 or 2-bedroom apartments with full kitchens. The building itself is features a sauna, pool, jacuzzi, spa, and a restaurant! Ultimately, the choice is yours. We just want you to be comfortable and enjoy your stay in Medellín!
Yes! We will be providing transportation from The Binn Hotel (our meeting point) to the wedding venue. The venue is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Buses will be picking up guests at The Binn Hotel and will also provide return transportation back to The Binn after the reception. We'll share more details about bus schedules and pickup times as we get closer to the wedding date, so keep an eye out for updates!
The weather is generally pleasant, with days averaging in the high 70s to low 80s and comfortable evenings, dipping into the low 60s. It's springtime, so you might see some occasional showers, but they tend to be brief and don't usually last all day.
