We met at a family dinner at Fargo's Pizza place - 3 days before my sister, Lexie, married Garrett's childhood buddy, Dan!! I was Lexie's maid-of-honor, and Garrett was Dan's groomsman. When Garrett introduced himself to me, he pretended to not know who I was, even though he had been looking me up online before he came to the wedding (smooth move, G!!). We sat and talked and hit it off right away. During that first conversation, I think we both felt the spark between us- especially when I infamously fed him chocolate ice cream. To this day, he tells me that in that moment, he knew! We spent that special week getting to know each other as friends - constantly exchanging looks and smiles! We went to Pikes Peak with a huge group (G changed seats on the train to the top just to look at me...aweee!!), we had a huge New Years Eve Party (where I crushed G at all drinking games...sorry, G) and had the best week ever, with friends and family celebrating two very special people in our lives. During Lexie & Dan's wedding reception, Garrett danced with my mom and told her, "I will marry your daughter". All of the parents and grandparents in the room could see that special something between us...it just took me a little longer to really figure it out! After the wedding, and 2 months of pondering, G asked me if he could come back to Colorado and take me on a date. The day he drove to CO , I honestly knew I loved him from the moment I met him at my house after work - that sweet, handsome country boy, sitting in a leather recliner, watching football, drinking a beer with his boots off. He was a dream come true. From that moment, we were inseparable! I will forever cherish the months we spent long-distance dating - texts, phone calls, hours of FaceTime, and a new "song-of-the-day" sent every day from my G. In that time, I quickly fell madly, unconditionally in love with him. He is my person, my best friend, my forever. See you all soon!! xoxo, The Future Mrs. Oates
