How We Met

We met through Craig's cousin, Brooke. She introduced us over FaceTime, and shortly after Craig started attending William Campbell. From then on, we talked every day. Craig called me his "wife" ever since that day, and now, years later, we are actually making it happen!

The Proposal

8.26.23

Craig had booked a photographer, and asked her to message him on Instagram acting like she wanted to do a free photoshoot for us in order to "help grow her business." Craig sent me a screenshot of the message, and I was all in! Our photography really went all in on this! I even picked the location where we were getting engaged without even knowing it! I had been telling some of my coworkers that I was thinking I may be getting engaged, but I was too afraid to tell any of my other friends just in case I was wrong. We rode up to Raven's Roost Overlook, where we were going to do our pictures, and when we got there, Craig took his phone and his wallet out of his pockets and I took that time to look and see if he had anything else in his pockets, and he didn't! After that, I had accepted my delusion and was convinced that it was not happening. We did a few poses, and then the photographer told me to turn around and close my eyes, and he was going to run up behind me and give me a big bear hug. When she said "Go" instead of him bear hugging me, he said "Kaylee" and I immediately knew and turned around. At that point, he asked me to marry him, along with other sweet words, and I said "Yes!" obviously! The rest of the night and the next day were filled with the joy of telling all of our friends and family!

invisible string

always connected

Craig and I often talk about the idea of an "invisible string" that tied us together even long before we knew one another. We had the recent discovery that Craig's dad, Robbie, actually took my Paw Paw Billy's class at the Technical Center for Auto-mechanics. Craig's uncle and my aunt dated each other for years when they were our age! When my aunts met Craig, they were all so confused because he looked so much like his uncle, they still call him "little Titus" to this day! In 2018, my family moved into a new house on Marysville Rd. My best friend Brooke came over to see my new home, and when we pulled up to the house she said "Oh wait! This is my cousin's old house!" It turns out that my parents had bought our house from Craig's sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Hans. A couple of years later Brooke introduced Craig and I to each other over the phone saying, "You guys need to marry each other!" Little did we know back then that we would actually be getting married and starting a life together. We love to look at these little moments in our lives that God has pieced together so perfectly, and we can't help but think of how blessed we are.
