We had such a great time with these guys during our vacation (with the exception of KayLee getting sea sick). Casey ended up catching this striped blue marlin, which apparently, is a little one compared to the average catches of the day! I mean look at that thing! It's HUGE! A note about any of the deep sea fishing companies, bring your own food and drinks. They will provide water. No rolling coolers allowed on the boat.
This luau is located at the Courtyard King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. According to Aunt Heidi, this is the best place to go to watch a luau. If you do attend this event, Aunt Heidi recommends getting the VIP package. You get to sit right up front, eat first, and other extras.
We did the sunset cruise and had a blast. February is prime time for whale watching. They also have many other adventures you can book. Pro tip: If you are going on the catamaran, arrive early, be the first on the boat, take your place at the bow (front) of the boat, and put a bag down to claim your spot. This is the best seat on the boat for whale watching.
Two Step is supposed to be one of the best spots to snorkel or scuba dive. Sea turtles and dolphins visit this area to rest quite often as well. This is also FREE! As long as you have your snorkel gear. They call it Two Step because you take two steps and immediately around all the coral and sea life. Really is beautiful. Highly recommend you bring your underwater camera for this.
If you have a free day driving around the whole island would be a wonderful experience. You can download this app (yes, it costs some money) called Big Island Gypsy Guide. It's like a personal narrator that provides history and information about the island as you drive around.
