Right outside the door of the Omni. Charlottesville's classic coffeehouse.
Walking distance from the Hyatt Place.
Great coffee and breakfast sandwhiches.
Best pastries in town.
If you are a smoothie bowl girly, Juice Laundry has the best smoothies in town. We love Bradely's CB&J (cashew butter and jelly).
Excellent brunch!
Short but strenuous hike ~30 minutes from town. Most people make this an out-and-back hike. You climb ~800ft over 1 mile to the top and then retrace your steps. It has a great view!
If you are looking for an activity, we recommend river tubing or kayaking. The river tubing is very relaxing and family-friendly. If you are looking for something a little bit more active, try kayaking the Rivanna adventure paddle. This paddle has a few class II rapids and the minimum age is 6. It is totally doable for older kiddos and exciting but not scary! Getting ice cream at Sugar Bear next door is a MUST after any river outing.
We got engaged at this vineyard and it is stunning! You can do a tasting or buy glasses / bottles. You can also get a meal here and they accept reservations.
Walking distance from the Omni. Best dive bar in town! Dave Matthews got his start here and they have great live jazz bands. The Nashville Chicken is (was) Kaylee's go-to late night meal (in her twenties, please, we all know Kaylee's bedtime is now 10pm).
Walking distance from the Omni. Excellent cocktails on the downtown mall.
Walking distance from the Omni. Romantic speakeasy and the site of Brian and Kaylee's first date!
The bar at this hotel has the most beautiful panoramic views in Charlottesville.
Beer, bocce and food. Great for big groups.
Best Italian food in town. You'll want to make reservations in advance for dinner, but walking into their back bar for a pre-dinner cocktail or night cap is always a good idea.
The best margarita in town is at Continental Divide (there is no sign with the name of the restaurant, the sign just says 'Get in Here'). We highly recommend staying for dinner and getting the Santa Fe Enchilada.
One of the best and easiest places to get great take out for a large group or if you are getting into town and want to grab something quick. Try the cemita sandwich.
Great food truck. We love the tacos campechanos, which is a mix of chorizo and steak.
Great for takeout. They also have a restaurant (at 205 Monticello Road) which is fantastic, but doesn't take reservations. The best Neapolitan style pizza. We love the chopped salad and the Paulie Gee Said We Couldn't Call It the Hellboy pizza
Walking distance from the Omni. Beer and burger joint with fantastic fried Oreos.
Walking distance from the Omni. Try the vegan beet burger, it's amazing! The normal burgers are great too!
