Yes! We have blocks at Sonesta in West Dundee. We suggest staying with this hotel because there will be a shuttle available to take you to and from the reception venue.
The Brix is a 7 minute drive from Sonesta, and there will be a shuttle available if you choose to stay at that hotel. Otherwise there is plenty of parking available at the venue, just please be safe if you choose to drive! Otherwise feel free to take an Uber or Lyft if you'd like!
Please RSVP here on our website before 1/22/22.
When you RSVP here on our website, you will have the option to tell us anything we need to know about your dietary needs!
Our biggest concern is that everyone feels safe and comfortable. As COVID cases rise once again, we have made the decision to require proof of a negative COVID test prior to entry into the venue, regardless of vaccination status. Tests will need to be taken within 48 hours of the event for anyone three years of age and older. Please note that anyone who fails to present proof of a negative test will be denied entry. If you are unable to fulfill this requirement, we absolutely understand, but we ask that you kindly decline your invitation. Additionally, we ask that you please not attend if you're feeling sick that day, or you've had a recent exposure to someone who was sick. Masks will not be required, but you are welcome to wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable. If you aren't comfortable coming to the reception due to health concerns, we 100% understand! We love all of you and we don't want anyone to be in a position that makes them feel unsafe.
Although we highly suggest clinic-based PCR testing, we will also accept home rapid testing. If you choose home rapid testing, please write your name on the test card, and take a picture of the card along with something that provides proof of the date (like another phone). I know this sounds tedious, but the cards become invalid after 30 minutes, and this is the best way I could think of to make the home tests feasible in this situation. If you're not interested in purchasing a home test, there is a lot of free testing options available. Since most schools and daycares have reopened, it's possible that your kids have been exposed, even if you haven't been. Although kids generally don't get very sick from COVID, they are still able to spread it to others that may not be able to fight it off as easily. Although all ages qualify for on-site COVID testing, home tests such as the abbot binaxnow tests are authorized for use on kids age 2 and older. Attached is a link that includes a video to help explain COVID testing, as well as to reduce testing related anxiety for children; see "Supporting Your Child During COVID-19 Nasal Swab Testing" https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/coronavirus-in-babies-and-children/art-20484405
