Car Rental at Rome International Airport: If you're booking a car rental from Rome International Airport, you’ll need to exit the terminal and re-enter through a different entrance. It’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the car rental area, but don’t worry – there are plenty of signs to guide you there. We recommend using your Aeroplan account (if you have one) to get a better price on your rental. We booked prior with Avis on our Aeroplan account and it was significantly less than booking through them directly. Important: The car rental at the airport is open form 7am - Midnight Driving in Italy: Driving in Italy is quite different from Canada. Drivers, especially in the fast lane, can be aggressive. They may tailgate or flash their headlights to signal that you should move over to the slower lane. To avoid stress, we suggest staying in the slower lane as much as possible.
