Crabtree Falls Hike
A beautiful waterfall hike near the venue!
Thunder Ridge Overlook
Our favorite overlook... the one where we got engaged! We recommend a Blue Ridge Parkway drive to anyone wanting some views.
Sharp Top Mountain
Another favorite hike of ours. This one is a bit more strenuous, but there is a bus option that will drive you up to the summit. Definitely worth it if you are driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and are looking for a hike!
Blackwater Creek Trail
Take a walk next to the James River. If you're staying downtown, the trail actually goes down Jefferson street so you can hop on anywhere you'd like. There are also other trailheads throughout Lynchburg and those addresses are listed on the link below. This was one of our favorite things to do when we lived here!
Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre
A fun place to do some tubing or skiing! We always loved to set up a hammock and catch the sunset in our college days. Fun fact: we stopped here for sunset just before our engagement!
Cole Mountain
One of our favorite hikes. There is a bit of a bumpy ride up to the trailhead. A mild hike though and stunning views of the grassy mountaintop! Fun fact: Kayla had one of her first bridal shoots on this mountaintop which helped her get started in photography!
Natural Bridge State Park
Another favorite place to hike (more like an easy walk!)

FarmBasket
Our favorite lunch spot. Kayla orders the cucumber pimento sandwich and Michael loves the roast beef sandwich! They also have a shop with cute home things and local leather goods. Fun fact: the mother of the owner of our wedding venue started FarmBasket by selling their famous "boxed lunch" from the little stand in the parking lot!

Rookie's
Home of the best ice cream sandwiches! This was one of our favorite date night activities and we stopped here after getting engaged. There are a few locations in town now so check which one is closest to you! Fun fact: Kayla lived in the apartments just up the street from the original location in Forest.
Lynchburg Community Market
A fun Saturday morning activity! They have local vendors inside the main building and fresh produce outside.
Gospel Community Church Rivermont
Looking for a place to go to church Sunday morning? This was our home church when we lived in Lynchburg and we miss it dearly!
