Travel Note

For the Beach Goers...

Every one immediately thinks of beaches when they think of Florida. The venue and where we are recommending to stay are not very close to the beaches. Please expect a minimum of a 45 minute drive to reach any water, and a 1.5 hour drive to reach a traditional beach (Clearwater is your best bet). You are of course welcome to stay near the gulf and it's extending waterways! Cars cannot be left at the venue overnight so please plan accordingly. Tampa's Riverwalk is a great place to get food and drinks or walk along the water (paid parking). Davis Island Beach is tiny but probably the closest you'll find. It is also near MacDill Airforce base on the tiny peninsulas that make up the Tampa Bay area. A bit farther out is the Sunshine Skyway bridge (toll bridge) in St. Pete. The tallest bridge in Florida, it is a great place to pull off on a side land bar, drive onto some sand, and put your feet in the water.
