This is the beach Kayla and her family grew up visiting each summer with her grandmother.
Silver Springs State Park is about an hour West of the wedding venue. There are glass bottom boat tours and inexpensive kayak rentals. There are always lots of Florida wildlife spotted here (gators, manatees, turtles, fish, and monkeys (yes monkeys!)). There is no swimming allowed, but is a great place for other outdoor activities. Kayla and Brandon live only a few minutes from here and love to spend time paddle boarding throughout the springs!
About an hour South of the venue, this is an excellent museum!
Bit of a drive (~2 hours from the venue), but if you want to see manatees, this is the place! March is towards the end of manatee season in Florida, when all the manatees migrate into the springs for the warmer water. Crystal River is a great place to see manatees during this time. Many places around here offer kayaking or boat tours to see and/or swim with the manatees. Three Sister's Springs, located in Crystal River, is a favorite sanctuary for these manatees.
