We met during my (Kayla's) freshman year (and Ben's sophomore year) swimming on the University of Utah Swim Team. I was getting in my study hall hours while watching Grey's Anatomy when Ben came and sat down right next to me (even though there were plenty of empty seats and I was clearly very busy). After our initial meeting Ben was hooked, and attempted tirelessly to get me to agree to hang out with him again. After coming up with numerous excuses because I was nervous, I eventually did agree... it was the best decision I could have made and the rest is history!

I (Ben) have always known that Kayla's favorite place in the whole world was on the beach in Topsail Island, North Carolina. Kayla had some suspicions that the proposal may be coming, but I tried for weeks to throw her off the trail. While the efforts may have been in vain and Kayla had an inkling of what was to come, the pier, outlined by the beautiful costal sunset, manifested a perfect backdrop for a beautiful start to the rest of our lives! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you. See you in Salt Lake!
