Alaa and I met when we both were working for United Airlines in San Francisco, CA. I was a flight attendant and he was an aircraft mechanic. Back then, we lived in "crashpads" (shared rooms with other flight crew) since rent was so expensive in SF. We used to go out with friends around the city who also lived in "crashpads" with us and ended up hanging out a few times. One day, he asked me to walk a dog with him that he was watching for a friend. On that walk he ended up asking me out on a dinner date. (Yay!) During the date, we ended up realizing that we had both liked each other for awhile and had a lot in common. We knew right away that we could see a future with each other. After that, we made our relationship official in the beginning of 2017 and the rest is history!
Alaa ended up getting both my parents and all of my siblings together for the weekend in Henderson (near Las Vegas, NV) where I'm from. All of us ended up going to a Hibachi grill for dinner together one night. After we had some food, Alaa stood up, got down on one knee with a ring and asked if would marry him. I was so surprised and excited, immediately said yes, and started crying happy tears. It was even more special because unofficially a month before, Alaa and I were in Michigan for a weekend visiting Alaa's family and we ended up announcing to them that we were going to get married and had an engagement celebration with them as well. Family is so important to us so I'm so happy that both sides were able to be there with us for these special moments in our lives. Each and every one of you are so special to us and we're so excited to be sharing this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Michigan!
