Kayden and Kendel’s story began in the most modern-day romantic way possible - on Hinge back in November of 2023. Kendel was on her way to Disneyland with her sister, Shelby, when Shelby took it upon herself to scroll through Kendel’s likes, as big sisters often do. One by one, Shelby remained unimpressed… until she reached Kayden’s profile. She paused, nodded thoughtfully, and said, “Okay… this one could be good.” Without hesitation, Shelby liked his profile back and, unlike ever before, insisted that Kendel send a message to Kayden immediately - despite the very pressing agenda of getting to their sister day at Disneyland. Slightly reluctant and very distracted, Kendel sent a simple message: “Hi Kayden!” Somehow, that was all it took. Kayden and Kendel’s first date did not go exactly as planned, thanks to a food-poisoning incident at the end of her California trip, but the unexpected change led to a FaceTime date instead - one that broke the ice perfectly. A week later, they finally met in person for dinner at North Italia at The Domain. Hours flew by, the conversation never stopped, and by the end of the night, they both knew there was something special there. Nine days later, heading into their third date, Kayden invited Kendel to his apartment, where he had roses and a bottle of wine waiting. He sweetly asked her to be his girlfriend, completely catching her off guard. Slightly awestruck (and trying to keep her composure), she asked if they could sit down and talk through a few questions first. Kayden was incredibly patient, thoughtful, and understanding, and by the end of that short-lived conversation, she knew exactly what she wanted. Kendel happily said yes - and the rest is history. Not long after, they both recognized just how special their connection was. Buying their first home together, planning for their first puppy, and getting engaged soon followed - proof that when you know, you know. From that very first “Hi” to forever, Kayden and Kendel cannot wait to celebrate their love with the people who mean the most to them.
