Enjoy the Columbia River Gorge!
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is one of the most beautiful places in Oregon and perfect for sightseeing, hiking, or simply taking in the scenery. Even a short drive along the Gorge offers incredible views, especially in the fall. Conveniently, this is the scenic route most guests will take when traveling from Portland to Hood River so enjoy the views along the way!
Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls is Oregon’s most iconic waterfall and one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the Pacific Northwest. The two-tiered waterfall drops more than 600 feet and features an easy paved walk to the famous Benson Bridge for incredible views and photos. Located directly along the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway, this serves as a perfect halfway point between Portland and Hood River. We highly recommend guests pull over and enjoy the beauty of the falls!
Vista House at Crown Point
A historic observatory perched high above the Columbia River Gorge with sweeping panoramic views of the river, cliffs, and forests. Built in 1918, it’s a perfect quick stop for photos and gives visitors a stunning introduction to the Gorge.
Hood River Vineyards & Breweries
Hood River is known for its incredible mix of wineries, breweries, cideries, and tasting rooms, many with stunning views of Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. Visitors can spend an afternoon exploring local wines, craft beer, hard cider, and farm-to-table food throughout the valley and downtown Hood River. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed tasting experience or a lively patio with scenic views, Hood River offers something for everyone.
Hood River Fruit Loop
The Hood River Fruit Loop is a scenic 35-mile drive through the Hood River Valley featuring local orchards, wineries, cideries, flower farms, and farm stands all set against the backdrop of Mount Hood. October is one of the best times to visit, with fresh apples, pears, pumpkins, fall colors, and seasonal treats throughout the valley. It’s a perfect way to experience the charm and beauty of Hood River while supporting local businesses along the way.
