Travel

So you care about Kavya and/or Sarang enough to trek all the way to Seattle for their wedding. That’s just swell. Or maybe you already live there, so it wasn't that big of a deal. If you are coming from out of town, we recommend two areas to stay. If you'd like to stay near the reception venue, there are a couple options near UW. If you'd like to be more centrally located to explore Seattle, scroll to the bottom to check out some recommendations for specific areas to look for hotel options (and a couple potential options too). We look forward to seeing you in Seattle!

Flight

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

Sea-Tac International Airport is the best option to fly in to Seattle. Common airlines that serve SeaTac include Alaska, Delta, American, United, Southwest, Frontier, and Spirit.

Travel Note

Options near UW

One option for stays in Seattle is near UW, which will make it convenient to get to the reception but might not be the most convenient for exploring the city. The two hotels in the UW area we would recommend are University Inn and Watertown Hotel.

Hotel

University Inn - A Staypineapple Hotel

4140 Roosevelt Way Northeast, Seattle, WA 98105

University Inn is a familiar spot for UW students since it is right on the edge of the West Campus dormitories. The location is ideal and just a 15-20 minute walk away from the reception venue. Approx. Queen bed room cost: $220/night

Hotel

Watertown Hotel - A Staypineapple Hotel

4242 Roosevelt Way Northeast, Seattle, WA 98105

Watertown Hotel is down the street from the West Campus dormitories, which makes it a convenient location for access to the UW campus. The venue is 15-20 min away from this location. Approx. queen room cost: $200/night

Areas to Stay in Seattle

While staying near UW is convenient to get to the reception, we would recommend visitors from outside of Seattle to stay closer to Seattle downtown to explore the city in the free time you have! There are a lot of areas that we would recommend checking out hotels, but here is a small list with specific benefits: - Downtown Seattle: Near a lot of the tourist spots, recently renovated so a solid choice. - Capital Hill/First Hill: Closer to the nightlife action, but would only recommend for the street savvy folks. - Belltown: Close to the Space Needle and close enough to tourist spots, a nicer residential area. - Queen Anne: A very peaceful and nice settled/residential area, some good views of downtown; tourist areas are accessible with a car or public transit. Check out some options below, but any spot in the areas mentioned above should be great!

Hotel

Moore Hotel

1926 2nd Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101

Located right in the heart of downtown, easy access to tourist spots and a 15-20 minute drive to the reception venue. Approx. queen bed cost: $170/night

Hotel

Hotel Theodore

1531 7th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101

A well-known and centrally located hotel in Downtown Seattle, walking distance to nightlife and tourist spots. Approx. queen room cost: $225/night
