A Wedding in Vermont - October 10, 2026

Nicole and Kyle’s story began on a dating app called Hinge, where Kyle spent weeks sending carefully curated memes as his version of a courtship ritual (which still remains one of their love languages to this day). They clicked instantly over their dark, absurd, and silly senses of humor, their shared nerdy interests, and — most importantly — their love of breakfast food. Nicole’s nickname for Kyle to her best friends quickly became “Breakfast Guy.” Naturally, their first official date was planned for Mackie’s Family Restaurant in North Attleboro, MA — a breakfast spot that would soon become a beloved staple in their relationship. Before that scheduled brunch could happen, the two decided they couldn’t wait and met up for a spontaneous drink instead. Both were nervous, excited, and maybe a little awkward. Kyle ordered a “dirty martini” that turned out to be about 80% olive juice and couldn’t bring himself to drink it. Nicole, valiantly and regrettably, finished it for him and hated every sip. They still kept their planned date at Mackie’s as their second date, and it’s the place they consider the true beginning of their story. Today, they spend almost every Saturday morning there together — and plan to keep that second-date ritual alive for years to come as they continue building their life and marriage together. Sweetened with maple syrup and served with a side of bacon.

The proposal took place at Three Brothers Wineries & Estates in Geneva, NY, during the Kaveny family’s annual summer trip. Despite all the signs, Nicole had absolutely no idea what was coming. She fully planned to show up in ripped denim shorts and a baggy crop top — thankfully, her sister-in-law Kelli (who was in on the surprise) gently convinced her to borrow a dress “just for fun.” It turned out to be a very good call. While Nicole and Kyle posed for a photo in front of the vineyard, Kyle suddenly dropped to one knee and presented the ring. He didn’t say a word — just looked up at her. After a brief moment of stunned silence, Nicole asked, “You gonna ask me?” Kyle grinned and replied, “You wanna?” …She said “YES!”

These days, Nicole and Kyle find joy in the everyday — their cats, weekend brunches at Mackie’s, and the life they’ve built together at home. Whether it’s gym dates, comedy shows in the city, arcade adventures, or quiet nights in, everything feels better when shared. We can’t wait to gather with the people we love most to celebrate this next chapter together.
