Cassey and Katylia met when they were 5 and 6 years old on the school bus. Katylia was crying because she didn't want to start at another new school, and when Cassey noticed, she came over to introduce herself. 5 year old Katy screamed in Cassey's face to 'leave her alone'! After her first day Katy calmed down and saw Cassey again on the bus. She decided to invite her over to meet her pet fish and they have been inseparable ever since. Katy is lucky enough to be the god mom to Cassey's first born child, Mico. But this friendship wouldn't be complete without the Matron of Honor, Aly.
Brock Friesen
Best Man
Ty and Brock met freshman year of College at Saint Johns University, where they both dormed on the same floor. They lived together in college, in South Carolina, and in Minnesota post graduation for a total of five years. Brock and Ty have traveled together on many trips including spring break to Panama City Beach, boys trip to Glacier and Yellowstone National Park, and road trips for work all over South Carolina. With everything they have been through it was an easy decision to make Brock one of Ty's best men.

When Katy was younger her mom rented a room from a woman named Lisa. Lisa had two children, Dayton and Aly. With Aly being 3, and Katy being 5 the two really butt heads in the beginning. Katy accidentally killed all of Dayton and Aly's pet sea monkeys, and in return the sibling duo would chase Katy around the house with a curtain rod. (Aly will claim she doesn't remember this, but trust and believe it happened) The girls eventually came around and formed a 24 year long friendship. When Katy moved away, Aly and Katy's maid of Honor, Cassey, became friends which in turn completed the soul sister trio!
Joe Donner
Best Man
Joe and Ty met sophomore year of college at SJU. They then lived together on and off until 2020. Joe was absent for a few years while he played professional Football in Europe. He is known for resembling Clay Mathews on and off the field. This is a guy who is always open to making new friends so if you're looking for someone to talk to, look no further. If you can't find him at the wedding just look towards the dance floor!

Nicole and Katylia went to Becker High School together, but their friendship really formed when they both crashed the same graduation party in 2011. These two are partners in crime and if there is a good time to be had, you can bet they will be there. When Ty was asked the question 'If you got a call that Katylia was in jail, who would she be with?' He answered, Nicole. When Nicole's husband Jacob was asked the same question about Nicole his answer was '100% Katylia'. Catch these two on the Dance Floor!
John Scepaniak

Ty met John sophomore year of college at Saint Johns. Ty had the honor of being a groomsmen for John when he married his wife Beka. John and Ty lived together for two years while attending college. One time in college John drove Ty to the hospital to get a painful cyst removed. When it was time to change the bandage, even though Ty lived with a nurse, John came to the rescue. He had no problem getting down and dirty to help a friend in need.
Kelsey Hemmelgarn

Kelsey and Katy became friends sometime around the fifth grade. Most of Katy's memories in middle school and high school involve Kelsey! These two would have week long sleepovers more times than they could count, and Kelsey was the closest thing Katy had to a sister before her actual sisters were born. From code names for boys they liked, to getting scolded and grounded together, Katy and Kelsey have been friends through thick and thin. If you're trying to figure out who is snorting during speeches, either of these two would be a safe bet.
Paul Plombon

Paul and Ty met sophomore year of college. Paul, being known as the father-figure of the group, is always there to make sure Ty and the other friends are taken care of. Everyone likes to get together in Paul's backyard located on the Mississippi River and tear it up on the water. You don't find many people nicer than Paul.
Savannah Landwehr

It's hard to say when these two became friends but it was definitely some time in elementary school. Savannah is considered to be a part of Katylia's family, in fact her parents have pictures of Savannah hanging on their wall! Katylia has been lucky enough to have Savannah by her side through childhood, teen years, party days, and adulthood and was even honored as being Savannah's son Wyatt's god mom! Savannah will be found at the wedding yelling at Ty and her Husband Eric, who have became quite the smack talking pair, and drinking Windsor to celebrate a night away from her four beautiful children.
Evan Bates

Ty and Evan have been friends since middle school. They both share a love for music and have worked on countless projects together, even being together in a band at one point. There are too many stories to only choose one to highlight with this guy, but lets just say these two are lucky to be alive with everything they have gotten into.
Cortney Busse

Katylia and Cortney met the summer of 2010 on a beach. Fast forward about a year and they became best friends, neighbors, coworkers, which then turned into roomates! These two have an endless amount of stories and inside jokes together, and have witnessed some of each others most hilarious (embarrassing) moments. Fun fact: these two often get mistaken as sisters or even TWINS! So if you see Katylia in a green dress on her wedding day, have no fear, it's probably just Cortney!
Matt Zitzloff

Matt and Ty were neighbors growing up, and Matt is Ty's longest lasting friendship. Growing up both as only children, they have served as each others brother figures through life. For his size, Matt can out eat a 500 lbs giant. These guys always enjoy attending Winstock Country Music Fest together. When Matt was sixteen and just had gotten his license they thought it would be a good idea to tie a rope to his cars bumper, attach the other end to a computer chair, and have Matt pull Ty down the road. This led to Ty hitting a curb at 30 mph and having their onlooking mothers scared to death. Ty also often reminisces of hearing his dad utter the words 'Matthew...go home.'

Katie and Katy met their Junior year of high school! Katylia was starting at a new school again, and she and Katie sat next to each other in their first class of the day. Katie would bring Katylia goodies from the gas station and they formed a fast friendship. From TP'ing houses, to throwing house parties when parents were away, this blonde and brunette duo made quite the team. In fact, these two somehow managed to get grounded together AFTER high school while ON VACATION! To take some time to think about what they had done, Katylia and Katie spent their last 24 hours in Florida watching whale wars and only leaving the couch to get more cereal.
Brandon Dahl

Ty met Dahl during his high school years through mutual friends. Every time these two are together people should watch out! It's hard to miss these two at a party. Ty has always enjoyed driving with Dahl, and really feels comfortable passing cars with oncoming traffic ahead because Dahl has great depth perception. Through all the jokes and bluntness, Ty knows Dahl is someone that will always be there for him when needed.

Katylia and Abby became friends in Elementary school through Katy's Matron of Honor, Aly. From birthday parties featuring dance offs and lip sync battles, to standing together in Aly's wedding, it's hard to remember a time where they didn't know each other. When Katylia needed an extra hand during wedding planning, she wanted someone she could trust, and someone who knew how to have fun and not sweat the small things. Abby was the perfect fit!

AKA 'The one responsible for this Day ever happening'! Joe and Ty have been friends since elementary school. Back in the glory days of Winsted Little League, Joe (Cup) and Ty (Slug) were vital in the teams success. One of Ty's fondest memories was when Joe flipped off his bicycle which tore off half of his face and gave him a concussion. Instead of going to the hospital, they hid this from their parents so Joe could come over to Ty's and watch WWF. Joe introduced Ty and Katylia in 2015. Even though Ty and Joe don't see each other as often anymore, whenever they get together they pick up right where they left off.

The Siblings
of the Bride
Many people don't realize but Katylia is the oldest of 8 children! She has four brothers Damian, Jory, Bryce, and Keegan Whaley that live in Alabama. She also has two sisters and a brother that live in Minnesota, Aubrie, Addie, and DJ Pennie. Whether they have been separated by time or distance all of Katylia's siblings have such a special place in her heart and she couldn't imagine celebrating this day in her life without them all present. Fun Fact: Katylia and Ty's wedding weekend will be the first time Katylia has ever had all seven of her younger siblings with her at the same time!
