We met on an online dating website. We started off talking about movies and music and figured out quickly we had a lot in common. After only a few days of chatting, we decided to meet at a local bar for drinks. It was a Sunday evening so the bar was quite empty. Once the first date jitters subsided, we enjoyed the evening talking and laughing. After relocating to three different bars that night we said goodbye, but from then on out we were inseparable.
It was always an on going joke that if Rob ever proposed he would ask me on a mountain top. That way if I said no he would push me off. This was a comedy bit that he referenced quite often. Well, he found his mountain top in Michigan. We were at the Sleeping Bear Dunes and I had a feeling something was up. It may have been the fact that he dressed in a button up shirt to go to the dunes or the fact that he kept singing “Love and Marriage” during the car ride. Once we climbed a small dune holding hands we reached one of the best views in the area. As soon as he asked a stranger to take our picture I knew and immediately started crying. I do not remember much of what he said but I responded with “of course!” It could not have been more perfect and Rob did not have to push me off the cliff.
