Keeping it in the Neighborhood

Who reads these things?

What started as two moms pushing some babies in joggers turned into a life long friendship. No one is more excited about this union than Kim Stich and Shelly Pond! Though the first time Katy and Kyle met is unknown, the memories date back, well how old is Ally? The Stich family moved back to the then smaller town of Plantation, Florida, in 1995. Eager to meet their new neighbors, Kim joined a group of moms for regular walks around the neighborhood. It was then that she met the Pond family and their children Kyle, Kathy, and the soon to be Ally Pond. The kids were inseparable. They did pretty much everything together. Some joked that Katy was just another member in the family, even making it into the homeschool yearbook. The Stich family and the Pond family went hand in hand, but no one would have predicted this. It was Mark Stich who said it jokingly the best to Katy one night at the resort, “whatever you do, don’t marry Kyle Pond”. Knowing that Kyle was the perfect guy for her. After countless attempts and stirring of the pot, perhaps absence made these hearts grow fonder when Katy went to K-State. Then after daily phone calls, Kyle and Katy finally reunited for a fishing trip in the Keys. They were hooked and decided to give love a chance, agreeing that if things didn’t work out they would have to still be friends for their mom’s sake. Luckily that didn’t happen even through the two year long distance stint of their relationship. Kyle and Katy decided to make the jump to South West Florida where they enjoyed the retirement lifestyle of fishing, paddle boarding, bike riding, and of course sailing. Kyle popped the question in front of family at sunset on July 14th, 2020. It has taken a lot to get these two to the alter. They are so excited to share it with their friends and family. In their own words they want it to be a big beach party, and a wedding just happens.
