Matt and Kate went on their first date to Movies 14 to see a horror movie and to get pizza at Januzzi's in Wilkes-Barre, PA in February of 2016. Matt asked Kate to be his girlfriend on March 13, 2016 and the rest is history!

Matt and Kate were vacationing in Fort Lauderdale, FL arriving on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. The flight from Newark, NJ was leaving at 7AM on the 18th to arrive in Fort Lauderdale around 10 AM. In mid flight, an announcement was made over the intercom that there was a hydraulic fluid leak in the engine prompting the pilot to emergency land in Raleigh, NC. Once landing in Raleigh, Matt and Kate awaited for several hours for another plane to arrive to take them to their desired destination. The plane finally departed from Raleigh, NC around 1:45 pm to arrive in Fort Lauderdale. Matt and Kate checked in at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale at 4PM excited to go to the beach to enjoy the beautiful weather. After spending time at the beach, Matt and Kate got dressed up for a dinner date. Matt asked Kate if she wanted to go down to beach to take some picture with a tripod camera and of course Kate said she would love to! Matt then surprised Kate with a proposal on the beach with the beautiful palm trees in the background capturing the special moment on video. Kate said YES! A photographer walked by during the proposal and offered to take some pictures! After a crazy and hectic day of flight delays/airplane issues, the day transpired into the best day ever with a proposal and an incredible Italian dinner on beach side to celebrate the special moment.
