Question

Our favorite restaurant in Roma

Answer

Osteria da Fortunata!! There are a few locations for this restaurant. We went to the one on Corso del Rinascimento which is right around the corner from the Pantheon!

Question

The hot springs of Saturnia

Answer

This is a natural hot spring in Tuscany! It is about a 2.5 hour drive from the Villa. We drove here from our Airbnb in San Gimignano and the drive is BEAUTIFUL! If anyone needs any other advice about getting there or parking or logistics let us know! We would be happy to help!

Question

Florence things to do

Answer

Gustapizza was one of the best pizza places we went to in all of Italy. The pesto and burrata pizza was to die for! Just google their name or look them up on instagram and check it out! Gino's Bakery had the best cannolis we ate on our entire trip! These cannolis are world famous. They are right across the Ponte Vecchio bridge! We did our pizza and gelato class in Florence as well. The BEST pizza and gelato class is booked through "walk about tours". They also offer other food making and eating classes as well, so check them out. You WON'T leave hungry and you'll have plenty of wine to drink on the beautiful farm overlooking the city.

Question

Rome things to do

Answer

Besides eat all the Carbonara there... there is obviously TONS of historical site seeing to do! The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican City, the Spanish Steps, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona.. and many more! Trastevere is a cute little area within Roma. We stayed there. A well known restaurant there is Tonnarello. When in Roma, the two dishes they are known for are Cacio e Pepe and Spaghetti Carbonara! Divinity Restaurant and Lounge is a rooftop bar and restaurant with a great view of the city and good cocktails! And of course gelato!! You'll find gelato places probably on just about every corner. Some of them are very touristy such as Mr. 100 Tiramisu. This one was okay if you're looking for a more unique tiramisu but we would recommend some of the less touristy places that don't have their gelato piled up real high and that isn't super colorful!

Question

San Gimignano

Answer

San Gimignano is a medieval town in the Tuscany region. We stayed here for a few nights and had one of the best dinners with the best views of our lives here at La Vecchio Mura. As for gelato here, Gelato Dondoli is a World Champion for gelato.

Question

cinque terre

Answer

The place where we got engaged! This is a lovely seaside area in northern Italy made up of five villages! They are Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Corniglia, and Monterosso! They are all unique and known for different things! Monterosso has a nice beach where you can rent beach lounge chairs and of course has many restaurants and shops. Corniglia sits up high on the cliffside and has cute shops and restaurants there! Riomaggiore is probably one of the most well known of the five villages. We stayed here while in Cinque Terre. There is a marina here and you can do different boat/kayak rentals. There is a restaurant called Bar e Vini a Pie de Ma that sits on the cliffside and has the best bruschetta and limoncino spritz we had the whole trip! Manarola is another well known village. We took a pesto making class here! You can take a class at Nessun Dorma and get one of the best views of Manarola around! Lastly, is Vernazza, where we got engaged! A great little village with good restaurants and bars right on the water. Plenty of shops as well here! We took a sunset boat ride via Crazy Boat Tours in Cinque Terre and had the most fun with our captain! We would recommend them if taking a boat tour! http://www.crazyboatcinqueterre.com You can also hike between all five of the villages for those of you who enjoy hiking!

Question

portofino

Answer

About an hour or so train ride from Cinque Terre is Portofino which is a beautiful seaside town. There is a hike up to a castle, Castello Brown, where you can get an amazing aerial view of the town. As usual there are plenty of restaurants and shops here as well and boat tours that can be taken here.
