Should I rent a car?

Answer

You don't have to, but it will definitely provide the most flexibility. Uber/Lyft are options in and around St. Charles, but if you plan to explore, having your own car will be useful. See below for day-of transportation details.

Do I need to worry about transportation on the day of the wedding?

Answer

Courtyard and Hampton hotels will provide shuttle service to the church. Hotel Baker is walking distance (0.2 mi) from the church. We will provide transportation from the church to the reception venue, then from the venue back to the hotels after the reception.

Anything I should know about the hotels?

Answer

Courtyard is Marriott and Hampton Inn is Hilton, which help if you want to earn/use points. They are on the east side of St. Charles. Hotel shuttles will provide transportation to the church for the ceremony, and we will provide transportation from the reception back to these hotels. Hotel Baker is a boutique hotel in downtown St. Charles, about 0.2 miles from the church. Barring inclement weather or very painful footwear, it's a quick walk. We will provide transportation from the reception back to the Baker.
