Hunter Mountain Fire Tower is one of the Catskills’ most challenging treks and the most difficult of the five fire tower hikes in the Catskill Park. That said, the reward is well worth the journey.
Mountain Top Arboretum is a public garden in the Catskill Mountains dedicated to displaying and managing native plant communities of the northeastern US, in addition to curating its collection of cold-hardy native and exotic trees.

Tanners boathouse sits on the recently-renovated Rip Van Winkle Lake, which offers canoe rentals and leads to a few trails around the lake. Come for a casual burger, lobster roll, and a few beers outside.
A great option for coffee & breakfast, as well as salads & sandwiches for lunch. Run by the same team as The Prospect at Scribner's Catskill Lodge, so you know it's good!
Though this isn't actually the town where Woodstock Festival took place, the town is a 25 minute drive away and boasts some really cute shops, Bread Alone (great for a coffee and pastries), some of the area's best dining (including SILVIA, which we highly recommend if you arrive to town early), and our favorite bar, Early Terrible!
