Things To Do

We are thrilled to share our neighborhood with you for the weekend and hope you will love it just as much as we do. Below you will find a list of some of our favorite places. There is so much to do all within walking distance, but it is also a very quick Uber or Metro ride into DC.

Old Town Farmers' Market

301 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

The Old Town's Farmers' Market is the old farmers' market in the country held continuously at the same site. George Washington sent his produce from Mount Vernon to be sold at this market. The Market is open every Saturday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. Get a breakfast sandwich from the Hog Haven Farm stand - so good! Even on wedding day, there's a good chance you will run into Jim & Mary Clark doing their weekly market haul.

Waterfront Walk

1A Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Old Town has miles of Waterfront walking paths along the Potomac River. Take the path north for views of the US Capitol and Washington Monument or take it south to Jones Point Park (where we got engaged). Dewey is a regular on these paths and frequents the Potomac River more than we'd like to admit.

Misha’s Coffee

6 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Grab coffee from our favorite spot before strolling the waterfront and King Street.

Chadwicks

203 Strand Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

If you've visited us in Old Town, you've spent time in Chadwicks. Grab brunch and scope out the after-party spot!

Vola’s Dockside Grill and Hi-Tide Lounge

101 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Grab brunch dockside at one of our favorite spots!

Drinks along King Street

111 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314

Hop around King Street to grab drinks at some of our favorites - O'Connell's (Irish Pub), The Fish Market (fishbowl beers), Old Hat (fun cocktails), or Bugsy's (pizza downstairs, sport's bar upstairs). Don't forget to Hydrate!

George Washington's Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, home of George Washington, is located just south of Old Town along the Potomac River. For our guests interested in history, the mansion, gardens, farm, and museum are a must see!
