Question

Is there transportation?

Answer

The ceremony is a 5-minute walk from both hotels, so there will be no transportation provided to the Basilica. For the reception, we will have shuttles running from the Alexandrian and the Hotel Indigo to Belle Haven. Post reception shuttles will be available to take guests back to both hotels. For our guests who want to continue the party with us, a shuttle will run from the reception to Chadwicks in Old Town. We will provide more information on timing of the shuttles closer to the wedding date. Alexandria is also a very Uber/Lyft friendly town if you prefer that option.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes. The Basilica of Saint Mary has 3 parking lots: South Pitt Street, between Duke and Wolfe Streets, on the corner of Duke and South Fairfax Streets, and on the corner of South Royal and Wolfe Streets. Belle Haven Country Club will have valet parking available.

Is there a dress code?

The attire for the ceremony/reception is black-tie.

Are children welcome?

Answer

All are welcome to the ceremony, but unless otherwise noted, the reception is adult only. We will be providing babysitters for those coming from out of town. Please reach out to Katie or Trav for more information.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Please join us for Welcome drinks and small bites at Barca Pier & Wine Bar at 8:00pm on Friday night. There will also be an after-party Saturday night at Chadwick's. Check out the “Schedule” and “Things to Do” sections for more info!
