Katie met Brea in the mid-2000's through a mutual friend. The two quickly became besties who hung out all the time in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2010, Katie mentioned to her newly single brother that Brea thought he was cute, and the next year Katie and Brea became sister-in-laws!
