One day Katie was browsing profiles on an online dating app, when she came across Tom's profile. His profile made her laugh out loud, so she wrote him a 'hello' message. They chatted for a couple of days before Tom asked Katie to go on a date. The evening of the date, Tom was a couple of minutes late, and Katie thought she'd been stood up! But soon Tom came rushing in, and they spent a wonderful evening talking and getting to know each other, and the rest is history!

Tom and Katie love to go off-roading in the mountains of Colorado in Tom's Jeep. Katie's mom, Karen, was visiting Tom and Katie, and had never been off-roading, so Tom suggested they take her one beautiful Sunday in June. Little did Katie know, but Tom had asked Karen for permission to marry her daughter, and shown her the ring a few days before. The trail was extra bumpy and daylight was getting short, but Tom was determined to make it to the top of the mountain. Katie wanted to get photos with her mom to document her first off-roading experience, but instead, Karen suggested Tom and Katie stand in front of the picturesque backdrop of a snow capped mountain to snap a few photos. When they had taken the photos, Katie started to walk away, but Tom stopped her and knelt on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring Katie had ever seen. He asked her "Will you marry me?" and Katie responded by turning bright red and asking "What are you doing?!" over and over again. She finally said yes, and Tom placed the ring on Katie's finger. Happily, Karen was able to capture the entire thing on camera.
