Travel

The Wedding Website of Katie Evans and Shane Hall
Please Note: For lodging we have reserved Borgo Divino for 3 nights, October 3rd-6th. We will provide more information shortly.

House Or Rental

Farmhouse Borgo Divino

5 Via delle Mura, Toscana 50025, Italy

This is where we will be having the welcome party, wedding ceremony, reception, and an activity the day after the wedding. Guests staying at the venue will handle booking and payment through the bride and groom.

Flight

Amerigo Vespucci Airport - Florence

The Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence is the closest to the venue (~30 min drive). This is a smaller airport and it is likely you will have a layover. Direct flights can be found to Rome & Milan but will require additional transportation to Florence via train or rental car. We suggest arriving 1+ days before the wedding to adjust to the time. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Katie & Shane.

Train

Santa Maria Novella Firenze

If you fly into Rome or Milan, or plan to travel within Italy surrounding the wedding, the trains are a great option! Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station is the closest to the venue, but will require an additional ~30 minute drive. There are two major train companies: Tenitalia and Italo. Generally, tickets are inexpensive even last minute. This will give you the most flexibility for travel between major cities in Italy. For the cheapest train tickets, we suggest purchasing them weeks in advance -however, they will likely be non-refundable. Note: Train employee strikes are common but generally won’t impact main-line service. The train company’s website can be checked in the days leading up to your trip to make sure it is still running.

Rental Car

Amerigo Vespucci Airport

Multiple car rental companies are available directly at the Florence Airport, with both automatic and standard options. Unless you are planning to drive elsewhere in Tuscany prior to or following our wedding, you will not need a rental car. However, if you get one, there is free parking at the venue. Note: There are limited traffic zones in many cities, where you cannot drive. This should not be an issue if you rent a car at the airport and drive straight to the venue. Uber is not common within Italy. However, there are Taxi companies and rides can be arranged in advance. We will provide more information on the taxi services as we get closer.
