We’re doing a thing!

Seth asked Katie out on a date to go golfing. Katie accepted even though she had only "golfed" a few times in her life -- and, let's be honest, she mostly spent that time just driving the golf cart around. Thankfully, with the assistance of her friend Maggie, Katie showed up for the date decked out in a cute golfing outfit and at least looked the part of a pro golfer. It's hard to say who had the better score (it was definitely Seth), but Seth and Katie agree that they both won that day because it was just the first of many adventures to come.

Seth surprised Katie with a trip to Glenwood Springs, Colorado for her birthday. Katie was excited to hike, sight-see, and spend time at the hot springs. Seth was excited to ski. Assuming that Katie's athletic prowess would make skiing a breeze for her, Seth convinced the newbie to hit the slopes. Sort of. Seth had the proposal all planned out: get to the top of the mountain, pretend to set up the tripod to take a few photos with the gorgeous backdrop documenting Katie's first time skiing, and then get down on one knee and actually take photos of the proposal. So cute, right? Except when Katie attempted the not-even-big-enough-to-call-it-a-bunny-hill slope, she kept falling. With a frustrated chip on her shoulder, she told Seth to go without her and she would be in the lodge having a drink. In a slightly desperate, yet hopeful tone, he asked her, "Are you sure you don't want to go to the top?" Katie imagined herself speeding down the hill, unable to stop or turn, taking out children, the elderly, and possibly a few shrubs, and confidently said, "Yes!" Seth then began to drop to one knee while saying, "Well, the reason I wanted to bring you here..." Katie, realizing she had ruined his plan, immediately starting shaking her head, "No," and telling Seth to get up. Seth, naturally, thought that Katie was refusing his proposal. She convinced him that she definitely wasn't saying no and he convinced her that it didn't matter where the proposal occurred. So, Seth asked Katie to marry him, and Katie confidently said, "Yes!" (while toddlers zoomed by on the slope that had foiled Katie).
