You need to pre-purchase a pass to drive into the Park. You can purchase a pass starting 60 days in advance, (they open on the 60th day prior and sell out) although they make more available for release a few days in advance. Check out recreation.gov for details. Also, a boat tour pass (like the Lake McDonald boat tour we're doing on Monday!) would serve as your vehicle pass! DRIVE GLACIER PARK: The classic tourist drive, the "Going To The Sun Road," winds upward 60 miles through some of the most scenic heights of the park. HIKE GLACIER PARK (west side and Logan Pass area): Trail of the Cedars – 0.7 mile boardwalk loop through old growth cedar forest (flat) Avalanche Lake – 2.3 miles one way, 500 vert ft John’s Lake Loop – 2.4 mile loop, 100 vert ft Apgar Lookout –7 miles one way, 1900 vert ft Snyder Lake – 8.5 miles one way, 2200 vert ft Hidden Lake – 1.5 miles to overlook, 3 miles to lake one way, 500 vert ft St. Mary and Virginia Falls – 1.8 one way, 285 vert ft

You can take chairlift up and hike down or hike up and take chairlift down, too.) KALISPELL (west): Rails to Trails, Lone Pine State Park and Herron Park are all close and have some very accessible options to get a little fresh air (i.e. some paved routes for a stroller). Tally Lake Overlook – 2.5 miles, 350 vertical feet KALISPELL (east): Strawberry Lake – 6 miles one way, 2300 vertical feet BIGFORK: Swan River Trail – 2 miles one-way (scenic flat, wide gravel path) Beardance Trail to Phillips Creek Trail – approx. 4 miles to Flathead Lake overlook one way, 2000 ft. vertical
