Travel Note
Unfortunately there are no hotels within walking distance of the venue. There are Airbnb options, and Uber and Lyft are readily available all over the city to get around. If you want to stay within Atlanta proper, we recommend staying in Midtown! Downtown is mostly office buildings and sports/event venues. Midtown is the pedestrian-friendly "cultural hub" with things to do and places to eat. It also has Atlanta's famous rainbow crosswalk at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue NE. Other great areas to stay based on safety and walkability are Virginia Highlands, Buckhead, and Decatur (the closer to Decatur Square the better). Hotels in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs (where Nils and Katie live) are also good options for hotels a short distance from the venue, but be aware those areas aren't as walkable.
Train
MARTA is the Atlanta area subway. It's not extensive, but if where you want to go is on one of the lines, it's a great option to get around! It's safe and easy to navigate, and only $2.50 per ride. Our venue is only 3 blocks from the Chamblee station on the gold line!
Travel Note
Metro Atlanta is shaped kind of like a peach. The entire circumference is the interstate 285 loop. Locals refer to things as being "inside the perimeter" (ITP) or "outside the perimeter" (OTP) of this loop. Some locals are adamant that anything OTP is not "really Atlanta," though plenty of areas outside the immediate city are worth visiting!
